the studio

SoulCurrent Studio was thoughtfully designed to pristinely capture audio as it flows in real-time inspired by the breathtaking view overlooking Fontana Lake and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park behind it. The studio is essentially a 33 x 21 (693 square foot) live room outfitted with custom-made acoustic treatment from John Hunter Acoustics.

Inspiration is further provided by a wall sporting a boutique collection of acoustic, electric, and resonator guitars, a dynamic Chauvet lighting system, comfortable seating area, and a private deck with a fire pit.  Beneath the studio is a private master suite decked out in Rock Star style – a place we call the Eddy where guests can stay overnight, enjoy a drink, or catch a relaxed vibe to further fuel their creativity.

About Kevin

I spent over two decades in the Finance industry, first guiding and assisting entrepreneurs and business owners in their financial and capital management strategies as a Commercial and Middle Market Banker and ultimately running a 150-employee mortgage business as the CFO and Director of Sales and Product Strategy.  My experience included leading the development of a ground-up Marketing department that implemented a dynamic co-marketing program, automated CRM, and customized personal brand development for our Mortgage Lenders and Realtor partners.  It also spanned capital markets, cash flow management, bank and vendor relationship management, and complex business strategy as I navigated the company through the most volatile economy over the past 20 years.

A Passion for Music

While those roles required a rigorous analytical, strategic, and risk mitigation mind-set, my passion for improvisational music provided an innovative approach, a focus on creativity and unrestricted creative flow, and embrace of the abstract, uncertain and ambiguous.  I have spent over 35 years playing guitar and performing under the name SweetPotato Slim, venturing deep into improvisational flow and garnering over 2.8 million views on YouTube.

Somehow, I found a way to excel at bringing the formless creative into the rigid reality of strategy and execution.  With SoulCurrent Studio, I am combining these elements and experience to focus on helping others bring their projects, passions, and visions to life.  Whether you are a musician, business owner, aspiring entrepreneur, life coach, and yes, even an accountant, I would love to collaborate with you to bring your dreams to reality. I offer a multifaceted array of consulting and production services within a flexible framework.
